About Us
Angels for Sight was incorporated in 2004 and officially opened its first vision clinic in Compton, California in February of 2007.

The organization has served thousands of children, families, seniors and veterans by providing vision screening, eye examinations and glasses at no cost.

In 2025 the new Angels for Sight state-of-the-art vision clinic will open
in Long Beach, California.
This new vision care clinic will allow the organization to better serve the needs
of the residents of Compton and Long Beach as well as an even larger number
of people in underserved areas throughout Los Angeles County.
Mission
Vision problems disproportionately affect minority populations. Access to eye care for minority children is woefully inadequate exacerbating a situation where one in four children cannot see well enough to read.

Ultimately these factors fuels the cycle of poverty resulting in juvenile delinquency, crime, unemployment and staggering illiteracy rates.
Angels for Sight's mission is to provide preventive vision care services to the uninsured and underserved people in communities in Los Angeles County.
The Gift of Sight
Kids & Families
Many students are often mislabeled as learning disabled because of the their inability to see clearly which impedes their ability to read. Critical vision screenings and full prescriptive care is provided at school and community health fairs to identify these kids and family members whose vision may be impaired and to correct it.
Our Golden Heritage
Senior Citizens
To ensure that senior citizens who do not have vision coverage have access to glaucoma screenings, eye examinations, and prescription glasses we host onsite events within the communities we serve targeting seniors and we have designated Senior Clinic days to provide quality vision care for these special members of the community.
For Love of Country
Veterans
Providing vision care for our those who have volunteered to defend and protect our country is an honor and a privilege. Many of our veterans struggle to gain access to adequate vision care. We regularly host vision care events targeting veterans to provide full vision services from exams and glasses to ophthalmology referrals.
All vision care services are provided by licensed, professional optometrists who graciously donate their time.

Founder’s Message
It has been said that America is the richest country in the world, but what makes this country so rich? Is it the stability of our economy, or the success of our Fortune 500 corporations? What about the influence of our government? Or, perhaps it is our strong and powerful military? While these factors undoubtedly contribute to the success and richness of America, this country’s greatest assets have always been, and remain today, our children!
Our nation’s future is dependent upon the generations to come, and if, our nation is going to continue making strides in a global economy, we must ensure that our most valuable assets — our children — are fully equipped, both mentally and physically. Being fully equipped means having the ability to progress educationally and financially with the self-confidence you need to succeed. That self-confidence starts with the ability to read and write.
With rapidly declining access to healthcare coupled with an alarming increase in the number of children living in poverty, studies have shown that children whom suffer from vision deficiencies are more likely to suffer educationally and socially. At Angels for Sight, we believe that the ability for our children to see is critical. Without sight and clear vision, our children’s ability to learn is virtually eliminated!
Angels for Sight is dedicated and committed to providing free vision screening, eye examinations, and glasses to the uninsured and visually impaired. Although our primary goal is to ensure that our children’s vision will provide them with confidence to see the future we also are addressing the needs of our senior citizens, veterans and other underserved members of the communities where our clinics are located.
I founded Angels for Sight because I saw a need to ensure that our community did not suffer simply because the eyes of the future could not see. In providing eyewear for our children, we are providing hope for our future. “In order for a community to be healthy and whole, it must begin with the love and concern of others.” Together with our partners and supporters we are tackling one of the main causes for child illiteracy, which grows into adult illiteracy. By helping our children see today, we are ensuring that they will lead us into tomorrow.
Join Angels for Sight and help make a difference in a child’s life, as we bring a better vision for a brighter future.
Thank you all,

My first time I went to school I thought I could not see good. Kids at school read better than me. In 4th grade I read 70 to 80 words a min. So I told my mom I can see good with my new glasses. The doctor was funny and nice to me. Thank you Angels for Sight.
